Minutes – March 24, 2007

Warren Marsland had proxies from Anita Kupperman, Anne Scharmach, Bob
Simard, Roy Quiggle and Mary Kay Quiggle
Meeting was called to order at 1:53pm by Warren Marsland.
Secretary’s Report – Bob Simard was unable to attend
A motion was made by Lois Sanders to accept the minutes of the last meeting;
seconded by Jim Bridges and carried.
President’s Report – Warren Marsland
Warren stated he would like to name the Rainbow Barometer Pairs in honor
of Bob Cofer who is recently deceased. A motion was made by Ruth Fornell
to rename this event the Robert Cofer III Barometer Pairs; seconded by
Arlene Bristol and carried.
Treasurer’s Report – Laura Krauss was unable to attend

copies of the Unit 112 Finance Update (3/24/07) were distributed.
Newcomer & Intermediate – Sue Barocas
Sue
reported she is willing to be a resource to all playing areas.
Regional Update – Lois Sanders
The 2007 Regional will be held July 31 – August 5 at the Holiday
Inn in Syracuse (this is a correction from the previous minutes.)
The District Board approved that this would be called the “Burt
Garrell Regional.”
Lois said it’s possible there will be a Director’s Refresher
Course offered.
District 4 – Barbara White
Barbi stated that District Director Craig Robinson wants to split the
Regional, which Unit 112 owns. This is up for discussion at the Executive
Committee meeting at Cherry Hill. A motion was made by Mary Miller that
Unit 112 representatives would not agree to relinquish or split the Unit
112 regional. After discussion, this motion was withdrawn. A new motion
was made by Mary Miller that Unit 112 will not agree to a split regional;
seconded by Arlene Bristol. After discussion, the motion was carried.
There was also discussion that Unit 112 has six spots on the District
Board.
STAC – Marsh MacMillan
Unit 116 (Buffalo) is interested in participation in the Unit 112 STAC
only if we can reduce the cost to $6.00/table from $8.00/table. The projected
increased attendance would be 150-200 tables, and Unit 116 would share
in the profit/loss which would be pro-rated by table count. Unit 116 would
also invite Unit 112 to participate in their STAC.
A motion was made by Marsh MacMillan to reduce the table cost to $6 and
include Unit 116; seconded by Jim Bridges and carried.
Meeting adjourned at 2:59 by Warren Marsland.
